The future of technology

The future of technology

Technology, I love technology. I phone’s, huge HD LED/Plasma televisions that are skinnier than Kate Moss.  Laptop’s with more processing power than a million hamsters on steroids and remote control tanks and helicopters. I couldn’t imagine life without the little and large life improving gizmos and gadgets. It doesn’t just stop at Playstation and the Xbox though, think of the machines in hospitals that scan your wife’s or girlfriends belly for live baby video feeds or x-ray machines that uses radio waves to show what your insides look like. We humans have created some amazing devices in our time, even though Hollywood and general techno phobic individuals would have you believe that technology may one day destroy or even rule the human race. Now this sounds like sci-fi mumbo jumbo, but let’s just clarify two things before we sceptically move on. The first thing is, is there is a machine in Geneva capable of creating black holes, and second, there is a software program called Sky Net. I just wanted to point that out before I started rambling on about the future of gizmos was going.

Now the future of technology doesn’t lie with flying cars and laser assault rifles, the future is the digital age. Mobile phones and tablet devices touch screen and interactive systems integrated into everyday life. I have seen touch screen coffee tables and interactive beds. I just love how newspapers and magazines are now completely digital, saving the environment on paper, and making articles nicer to look at and read, whilst adding a new feature to the touch screen device that you are using. The mobile phone and tablet device has revolutionised gaming, with new models being fitted retrofitted with bigger and more powerful processors. Although a downside to this, is the fact with better technology, apps will become more advanced, the more up to date they are, the more expensive apps and tech will become.

Millenium Falcon Bottle Opener

Of course you can play with this when not using it as a bottle opener. Just check out the detailing ! This is never going to get old nor unloved.

Arm - inserted control.

Now this is more the new Total Recall that I was talking about having a phone in your palm. This is a more ugly and not very well designed vision but the idea has some merit though you have to imagine a better interface with less clutter.

If Apple did jewellery II - return of the ring

Not for me this one - not at all as cool as the other bangle in future products II

Sony Slide Out

Again some good photoshop trickery here  - this product doesn't exist for god reason - might look cool at first glance but why ? I guess they are trying to solve the problem of fitting a keyboard in somewhere - much like the stay - go laptops and slates of today #FAIL

Shoe Thrusters

With these you will loose 20lbs ! They supply anti gravity effect. Either that or they are for the asbo toting youth as a way to report their location. #FAIL but good for some kind of inspiration as its weird things which jog your brain.

Industrial Product Design : Future Products 3

We continue to showcase the best industrial design and photoshop creativity.

Xbox Automated Controller

As a working dad I can assure you that I don't get the same time as does a teenager and so its really hard to build a decent kill streak in call of duty ! They really need a dads (working dads) category so we can play at our own eternal noob level. I need some help to up my gun classes and short of hiring an individual in china to play for me (under my login) this is the kind of product I could use. Sway left and overshoot past the gobby teenager and oh yes he killed me...this is a thing of the past as a CPU takes over the game.

One to watch

Add up the dots designed as a circuit board to tell the time - I feel this design won't make it.

Its NOT TRUE THOUGH !

Its still not true, does this marketing really work for you ! It boggles my mind. Clearly heading back to the 80's with this watch design.

If Apple made Jewellery..

The designer that did this appealed to a few of my weird tastes namely the studded array each side of the glowing logo. The only issue is that its a logo for me but I have seen logo tattoos go well so why not.

Mountaineering Camera Utility Glasses

No he's not in a studio he's climbing mount everest dummy he just makes it look easy. I'm kind of thinking that even being light this is pulling the side of the glasses down so to balance this I would like some ideas of what to stick on the other side like an ice axe holder or portable water bottle.

These are specialised specs which would protect your eyes from the glare and Ultra Violet Light that is so much stronger while in the mountains.

iphone 7

Shame they didn't change the icons deskop design yet. There are ergonomic limits to what we feel is comfortable to hold I want something that exists woven into the palm of my hand sci fy style and the new Total Recall.

Bubble Translator

Learning languages is not a waste of time - Imagine if you forget to take your bubble translator with you next time you go to Japan. Requires 2AA batteries and a cup of fairy liquid sold separately.

Industrial Product Design : Future Products 1

I'm not quite sure how to introduce this suite of future product blogs coming soon. I found the site online somehow ? And each of the images linked to a site that was some kind of auction selling nothing like what these images suggested. So it is gutter traffic and a poor example of where the internet can be.

BUT - the industrial design that can be seen in the images is worth blogging. Apologies if these images belong to you please contact us and we will either remove them or correctly source them to you - your choice if you can prove ownership. I think they deserve to be blogged and logged !

Click on the black tags 'Industrial Product Design' to find all the related posts which will be up and coming.

So lets introduce them in their photographic and ingenious glory. There really is good design here and this in itself is inspirational for product designers like myself.

Futuristic Mask

Potential uses could include keeping colds to yourself or nuclear fallout away (perish the thought) or just a fashion statement that you find in the computer games of today - scary stuff. I'm sure there is a camera on there and a suite of heat seeking missiles that you can lock onto an iphone 25 m away.

Finger Laser Pointer

Is it a light - is it a pointer, it could also act like some kind of support for those sprains you got while growing up. Its amazing what can be achieved by cameras with consoles these days re Kinect by xbox microsoft. But I like to think as this as my own personal projector screen from my finger.

Knuckle Camera

Staying with hands we have this faked up image of a knuckle camera - very possible but the motion caused by your hands by all but riding a bike make this a limited and flawed concept. Still small micro cameras are expected to feature much more in items we buy in the year to come.

The Definition of a Stylish Car

The Definition of a Stylish Car

Stylish Cars

Ok so I wanted to do a blog about stylish/Super car’s and what the definition might actually be. I would imagine the majority of people think of Zonda, or Bugatti and Ferrari when you mention the term Stylish/Super cars. They wouldn’t be wrong as most of these vehicles would be described as “Sexy”, and faster than a thousand Gazelles. However I disagree with the stereotype, I want to talk about the possibility of a Transit van being “Sexy”, and I want to discuss my Fiat Punto being classed as a “super car”.

Most car enthusiasts will define super car as a very powerful, fast and sleek vehicle that’s price should be out of this world. The automobile should be of a rare variety and should only be in the possession of the elite classes of society. Lamborghini, Zonda, Ferrari, Bugatti, and McLaren are amongst the biggest manufacturers of high end sports vehicles. Most makes and models under these brands tend to have over 500BHP, and are fitted with American or Japanese racing parts.

I would probably say that my personal favourite of all high end models would be Pagani Zonda. A stunning piece of Italian craftsmanship. Sporting a V12 engine, a 6 speed gearbox with over 400BHP. I remember first seeing this model when first playing one of the Gran Turismo games on the Playstation. I was very young at the time, but thinking how beautiful the body was, and wondering whether the high pitch growl it made in the game was the same as real life. I loved how low to the ground Zonda was, and thinking you could probably flip another car if you drove into it at speed.
