What if???

What if???

What if…..?

I woke up this morning to find that my wife was already down stairs with my six week old son. As I lifted myself from my king size bed I thought, What if I could install the machine out of Wallace and Gromit. You all know the device I’m talking about, the machine that tilts you out of bed, showers you and brushes your teeth for you. I know this sounds lazy but just imagine how awesome this would be if you could buy something like this on the market. Or what if a large suction tube descended upon you just after you get out of bed that washes you, dry’s you and dresses you. We live in the 21st century, we can send out unmanned drones to strategically fire missiles right up the back side of anyone unfortunate enough to be on our naughty list. So why can’t I have a device that carries out the tedious tasks of personal hygiene?

Once I’ve grunted, groaned and stretched off, I wrap myself in my dressing gown and head towards the toilet, and then once again I had another crazy machination. What if, instead of wasting time on the toilet, wasting toilet paper and baby wipes, imagine there was a device that can digitally remove your bodily waste as and when requested? I mean, our bowel movements aren’t exactly a pleasant experience for all, not to mention we could save money on toilet cleaner, and air freshener. I saw an episode of Family Guy, this particular story encompassed the possibly of the multi verse theory. The theory states that there are millions of universes all parallel to each other in different dimensions. Well in this particular episode one universe is so advanced that all bowel movements can be requested at will and are digitally removed and sent to another universe. Also AIDS is a curable disease, by simply taking a pill and it is obliterated immediately, also another what if question to think about.

So after carrying out my business, I stumble across the landing and check the stairs to make sure the cats aren’t waiting to trip me down them. Then all of sudden, yep you guessed, a what if pops into my head, much like a random Frisbee when your wandering around your local park, or if you live in my area, a bottle of cheap vodka! Now this idea isn’t exactly new, nor is it a crazy nonexistent piece of tech, but I’ve always wanted to have an escalator instead of stairs. Now I would imagine this would be annoying if you haven’t got room for two sets, so you would have to change the settings to either up or down, but I am just lazy enough to try. I also thought a fun way of getting down the stairs would some kind of a zip wire or inflatable airplane escape slide.

So I get to the bottom of the stairs, walk into the living room and greet my wife who is watching television. She offers to make me a cup of tea and I accept and sit with my son who is currently asleep. I’m sat there with my son when I think to myself what if instead of having to make cups of tea, turning the television on and controlling the heating in the house, what about a universal control system, voice activated and handheld. A controller much like the new WII U’s, and an open voice activation system where you simply tell the house to carry out tasks. Kettle on! Heating on up to 28 degrees Celsius! Television, find me Sons of Anarchy! All these would be ideal pieces of tech and I’m pretty sure something similar does in fact exist today.

The Hauppauge gaming edition - Gameplay recorder

The Hauppauge gaming edition - Gameplay recorder

The Hauppauge HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition is a high definition recorder, designed for creating your own personal game play videos and for sharing online via Youtube, Twitch or even Twitch Live Streaming, or simply showing your friends whilst at home. According to the retailer at Tech Inventory the PVR 2 records footage from your gaming console and downloads directly straight to your pc or laptop using HD H.264 format. The unit requires installation of the ArcSoft ShowBiz Suite, which is included with the Hauppauge HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition purchase. ArcSoft ShowBiz Suite will capture your real-time game play, and edit previously recorded games, though, it is worth taking into account there are better video editing applications on the market. ArcSoft ShowBiz Suite does have a wide range of video conversion tools as well.

The current generation of gaming has seen thousands of video uploads to YouTube and other social networking websites. Short films made by gamers showing off their skills, usually showing First person and Third person shooters. This unit is a birth product of the gaming revolution, and is of no surprise to me that such a gadget should rise from the evolution of video games.

PVR 2 sounds like the gamers dream accessory, it looks good, and does exactly what it says on the tin. The unit records directly to your PC and stores data automatically much like Garmin Swim does. The PS3 connector has to use its older more out of date component cable, whilst the Xbox uses its HDMI connection. This is apparently due to Sony making it illegal to do so, but it is more likely Sony simply couldn’t be bothered to contest against Microsoft; hopefully, this will change with the introduction of the next generation consoles that are rumoured to be hitting the market in the next year.

Garmin Swim Review | Swimming Watch

At first glance this just appears to look like any other digital watch. However upon closer inspection we realise that this could be the best swimming product since the invention of goggles. Garmin have designed this fabulous little swimming aid that can really help to improve your technique and assist your concentration whilst in the water. Garmin swim is a swimming tool that counts the laps you do whilst you concentrate on your strokes and speed. The little accessory has a sleek design which cuts through the water so it won’t slow you down, and you can replace the battery yourself around once a year as per the manufacturer.

Garmin Swim has an easy to use basic interface so anyone can use it. Once on your wrist you simply input the size of the swimming pool your about to use and it automatically calculates the amount of lengths you swim. Also with Garmin swim you can input swimming drills and find out how fast you pace yourself through the water. Another great feature is that Garmin Swim is also a watch and an alarm can be set, and to help you stay motivated it displays your weekly accumulated distance under time of day.

Flo Rida - Good feeling

Flo Rida - Good feeling

Flo Rida – Good feeling

This is, personally an amazing music video, probably one of my all time favourites. Not only is the song very catchy, bouncy and makes you want to move but the video is very tech heavy and we get to see what someone like Flo Rida use’s all these different bits of kit for. The video includes super cars, some very cool looking exercise equipment and some fashionable clothing.

Mountaineering Camera Utility Glasses

No he's not in a studio he's climbing mount everest dummy he just makes it look easy. I'm kind of thinking that even being light this is pulling the side of the glasses down so to balance this I would like some ideas of what to stick on the other side like an ice axe holder or portable water bottle.

These are specialised specs which would protect your eyes from the glare and Ultra Violet Light that is so much stronger while in the mountains.

iphone 7

Shame they didn't change the icons deskop design yet. There are ergonomic limits to what we feel is comfortable to hold I want something that exists woven into the palm of my hand sci fy style and the new Total Recall.
