Rohit Shetty’s “Chennai Express” is slated to be release this Friday, an auspicious day as it is Eid, and the country will be celebrating the festival and the film. The “Chennai Express” team has many feathers to its cap the latest being it has the biggest release in UK; no other Indian Film has matched this. 125 cinemas and 170 screens are the figures that have come out regarding the release of the film in UK. As a part of the promotion for the film the team was in London and they received a huge support. The film is set in South India and is a complete entertainer. Shahrukh Khan expressed his appreciation for the support he got from the UK audience and was sure the film would do well.

The train also stopped at our desi station Punjab for the promotion. Here Shahrukh had to say that along with the people he loved their food. It was so rich and he would put on weight whenever he visited Punjab. The film’s promotion was held at Jalandhar and Deepika Padukone, his pair in the film was also present. Both acknowledged the carefree nature of the Punjabis and the unparallel hospitality of the state.

An international brand is reported to have contacted her to get a signature denim line designed, in which her nickname is to be used. It was Kareena Kapoor who initiated the trend of ‘size zero’ and she seemed to have impressed the renowned brand with her presence and appearances. Kareena Kapoor is lending her own name to the collection.

Shahrukh Khan Plays The Role Of A Psychotic Lover
 
It has been reported that Bollywood’s King Khan, is to play the role of a psychotic lover in ‘Happy New Year’ the next venture of Farah Khan. In the violent love story ‘Darr’ he has played a similar kind of role and accordingly now has the required experience to play the role of a psychotic lover. Under the banner of Yash Raj Films, Yash Chopra had directed this violent story ‘Darr’. People had appreciated Shahrukh Khan’s role in the film besides which he also got a nomination at the Filmfare awards as the Best Villian. There had been a lot of rumors about the role Shahrukh is to play in the film ‘Happy New Year’. However, the film’s female lead is yet to be decided upon by the makers of the film project. Abshishek Bachchan is also part of the film. There have been rumors that Aishwarya Rai, the beautiful diva from Bollywood had been approached to play the female lead opposite Shahrukh Khan. However she rejected the offer as she wouldn’t be able to pair opposite her real life husband, Abhishek. Boman Irani is also to play a part in the film along with Abhishek Bachchan. Everyone has been waiting for this film. It was last month that the film was supposed to go on the floors. However Shahrukh Khan had to undergo an emergency surgery for his shoulder due to which it was not possible for the film to go on the floors and this was postponed. As of now the shooting is scheduled to begin after two months, in September.

Sanjay Dutt had just a last few moments of being with his family and being free at his Bandra residence before he set out to serve his three and a half year jail term. He had to surrender to the TADA court. He bid adieu to his friends and family members and hundreds of fans and the huge media contingent that had gathered around him. The common man and media caused frenzy around him and wanted to catch one last glimpse of the Bollywood actor before he was driven away to the TADA court – as per the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Act on 16th May 2013. In 1995 he was granted bail after he spent 18 months in jail. Then in July 2007 he was again given a five year rigorous imprisonment sentence.

He was convicted for possessing arms illegally in relation to the blasts in Mumbai in 1993 and on 21st March 2013 as per the judgment of the Supreme Court’s judgment he was sentenced to 31/2 years in jail. Around 1.30 am he left his home at Imperial Heights in Pali Hill, Bandra Mumbai to reach the court, where the media was waiting for him. The 53 year old actor was accompanied by Maanyata his wife, Priya Dutt, his sister and Mahesh Bhatt, the reputed film maker. Through the huge crowd, both Priya Dutt and Maanyata Dutt, braved their way. Mahesh Bhatt folded his hands to request the media and crowd to make way for Sanjays’ exit. Formalities related to his surrender began once he reached the court. Sanjay Dutt was bid farewell by his close friends including Rahul Aggarwal, Soham Shah, Kiran Kumar, Apoorva Lakhia and Bunty Walia, and others during the earlier part of the day. Abhishekh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan too have visited Sanjay earlier during the week.  Before he left his home for the court, he spent some precious moments with his weeping wife and his kids Iqra and Shahraan.

Everyone wants to know what Mugdha Godse was doing at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. During the cricket match of Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata, she was spotted with the team and Shah Rukh Khan recently. The onlookers were left wondering and found her presence there to be quite odd. Actually, Mugdha was travelling to Kolkata. On her flight, she met Juhi Chawla’s husband Jai Mehta, who is also the co-owner of the KKR team. It was Jai who invited Mugdha Godse to watch the match at Kolkata. She was to be in Kolkata for just a day actually but since she was invited to watch the match, she ended up staying there for two days.

Akshay Kumar Fails To Get Footage At A Publicity Stunt At The IPL 2013

Something went horribly wrong with Akshay Kumar’s publicity stunt at the IPL 6. ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Again’ was the forthcoming release this macho actor wanted to promote at the Eden Gardens. Sonakshi Sinha, Imran Khan and Akshay Kumar wore specially designed shirts to promote the movie when they entered the Eden Gardens. The trio had thought that with their starry presence and the print on their T Shirts – ‘Once Upon A Time In IPL’ they would be able to woo the cameras.

The tag line on the shirts was very similar to the upcoming film release, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Again’. The three actors had turned up for the game between Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders at the IPL 6, a high octane game, for promoting their film. However the cameras did not focus on the three actors which was not anticipated by Akki. The camera lenses had snubbed the three stars quite royally. It was discovered later on that, it was the behest of the administration officials that the cameras at the IPL were being operated due to which Akki and the two actors were not able to get even a second of the air time.

It must be noted that an official agreement is required for any campaign for promoting films by stars. According to the rules at the IPL games there is a code of conduct that needs to be stringently adhered to. Films stars are not allowed to indulge in any kind of cheeky campaign to promote their films. Celebrities of Bollywood town have always considered the IPL games as a massive tool for public relations, project promotion, etc. Whenever there is such a promotional drive to be undertaken, it becomes mandatory for the Bollywood town celebrities to seek permission before hand. It is heard that Akshay Kumar was not kicked about the idea of wearing the T Shirt for promoting the film, but it was the promotional team of his film who had convinced him that this gimmick would turn out to be a favorable one for him. However the gimmick only backfired. While Akshay Kumar was not successful in getting just 15 seconds of fame at the IPL 6, Shahrukh Khan, Akshay’s rival was seen clapping, cheering and waving for his team at the IPL this season.

Strife Between Anurag Kashyap And Mega Star Amitabh Bachchan Ends!

Anurag Kashyap, Bollywood director and megastar Amitabh Bachchan had a strife between them around two years ago which came out in the open. Now both of them have buried the hatchet. In his Facebook page, Anurag had hurled many accusations against the Bachchans. It seems the film release of ‘Chittagung’ a film made by Bedabrata Pain, Anurag’s friend was sabotaged deliberately by the Bachchans. It was during that same time that Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘Kheley Hum JiJaan Se’ in which was scheduled for release and to promote this film, the Bachchans had sabotaged, the film made by Kashyap’s friend. There was an obvious rift between the Bachchans and Kashyap since then.

As of now there is good news that the differences have been buried by them and they are expected to again work together. In a film collection called ‘Bombay Talkies’ directed by Kashyap, Amitabh Bachchan is expected to appear in a short film. The four short films are directed in a collection by AnuragKashya, Dibakar Bannerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar. In fact the impact Amitabh Bachchan has had on his fans has been dealt with in Anurag’s film. It seems that Amitabh Bachchan has taken the first step to mend the rift between both of them when on twitter, he praised Anurag’s film, the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ openly.

When Kashyap was asked what had happened he said that there was certainly something that caused the rift between them both, though he has forgotten what it exactly was. He says that a smaller man does have a big ego, but it was Amitabh Bachchan’s personality that went out to praise the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ film. Anurag says that though everyone had told him to reply Amitabh then, he hadn’t done so and didn’t feel any reason to do this as well.

Then one day he felt that it was high time that the issues got resolved and Amitabh himself had given him the chance. So, Anurag took two pegs and replied the megastar asking if they could meet. Amitabh said that he could come whenever he pleased and this time the Amitabh Bachchan fan came out from within him. Anurag has admitted that he is a big fan of Amitabh Bachchan and both are going to make a film together, the coming year.

Everyone was shocked to see Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh on the sets of Lootera. For one particular scene, he gave real emotions by actually hurting himself. He was supposed to show that he was in deep pain for a particular sequence. So he took a safety pin and started piercing himself repeatedly to give that particular shot, reported a source.
