All stars attending the Cannes International Film Festival are busy putting their wardrobes in order. Indian cinema celebrates 100 years at the festival this year.

For this red carpet event, special care is being taken by Indian stars. And special preparations are being made by Ameesha Patel for the event as this is going to be her maiden event. This 37 year old actress has made a decision to sport an entirely desi look during her visit to the Cannes festival, as per reports. Ameesha Patel has acted in Shortcut Romeo a film directed by Sushi Ganesh in which Puja Gupta and Neil Nitin Mukesh have also featured. The film will be premieredon the 22nd May, and will be attended by Ameesha Patel.

Ameesha consulted Manish Malhotra, designer and good friend, who also feels that the decision to dress in 'desi style' is the perfect way to represent India on a global platform. She says that the big deal is that she is going there especially for the movie she has worked in and not as a brand ambassador. To represent Indian cinema at the Cannes festival is a huge honor for her, she states. There will be two outfits for Ameesha, one in the morning for the red carpet and one at night for the premier. She feels there couldn’t be anything better than the lehenga or the sari on an Indian woman. She has acted in hit films like Gadar – ek prem katha and Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai.

One of the best known designers is Manish Malhotra who designs some of the best possible ensembles to compliment the look of any person. Ameesha Patel has been given a red carpetish yet Indian outfit keeping in mind her personality and complexion, he says. Classic colors, white and black have been incorporated in the outfits she is going to wear. Chikankari and Kashmiri work feature high on her outfits. International summer trends have also been kept in mind while designing her outfits for the Cannes festival.

All five matches played by Mumbai Indians on their home ground so far have been won by them in the IPL 2013. It appears that even though Kolkata Knight Riders are cutting it fine for a berth in the playoffs, they are yet not out of the IPL race. At the Pepsi IPL 2013, if they had not been defending champions, they would have already been written off. A lot is being expected from the KKR team as far as pushing the Mumbai Indians team at the 7th May match is concerned. The match is to be played at the Wankhede Stadium and the so far the MI team has won only five IPL cricket matches. They achieved the most unlikely result possible during the last match played when they gained a victory by 60 runs over Chennai Super Kings.

KKR team needs to be aware that with a superb performance of that kind, the reputation as well as morale of almost any team can be raised. Everything seems to be in fine fettle, apart from the struggle of identify the best seamer at number three, from Pawan Suyal, Munaf Patel, Rishi Dhawan and Dhawal Kulkarni who have all been tried and the poor form of Sachin Tendulkar at the batting order at the top. Bowling of the Mumbai Indian bowlers is quite lethal which the Kolkata batsmen who misfire need to be aware of well. Mitchell Johnson has been consistent enough about picking up of wickets. Pragyan Ojha and Harbhajan Singh have been successful in striking regularly and have conceded runs at giving away, less than seven runs per over. Even if Lasith Malinga has not been too much amongst the wickets, but whenever he was given the ball, he has been keeping things tight.

David Miller’s hard work has paid off during this IPL. He left Bangalore stunned by slamming 101 off 38 balls, the fastest third century at the IPL games this season. On Monday, Miller was able to ravage the bowlers of Royal Challenger’s Bangalore, almost single handedly to take on the Kings XI Punjab and end in a resounding and unexpected six wicket win. In the line-up, he came in to bat as the fourth batsman and chased a nice 190 runs. At 51 for 3 in 7.4 over’s, his side was in quite an uncomfortable spot. David Hussey was the partner he lost during the 10th over, but despite this he decided to unleash a real carnage and sent the ball flying out of the cricket field, thereafter. He struck seven sixes and eight boundaries just leaving the local fans screaming with joy while the visitors remained stunned in silence.

When David spoke after the match, he said that since a year and a half, he has been working extremely hard to get himself to this level and explode this manner. Wankhede Guard, Vikas Dalvi, Who Fought King Khan, Gets Off Today For A Kolkata Match!

Vikas Dalvi, the guard at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai was given a break finally by MCA. On Tuesday, 7th May, he will not be on duty for the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians, as he is sent off to Kolkata. He has been allowed to get off for a cricket match by the MCA. He had earlier, fought Bollywood superstar ShahRukh Khan and owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, KKR. When Dalvi spoke, he said that he was asked to leave for Kolkata by the MCA, so as to avoid any unnecessary attention. Vikas Dalvi works as a security guard at the MCA, Mumbai Cricket Association. During the last IPL season during 2012, he had the daring to prevent ShahRukh Khan from entering into the Wankhede Stadium.

Owner of the team, Shahrukh Khan appeared a bit dreary and tired, while Bret Lee was seen sparkling in his white tee. It is being wondered whether King Khan was able to give the teammates the boost for gearing up for the rest of the IPL cricket matches. The reason why Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty, owners of the Rajasthan Royal team are much in the news is because they have allegedly duped the director, Anand Singh, of the cricket academy in Jaipur. Both of them have been accused of committing the fraud. In the past, Anand Singh had objected to Shahrukh Khan and Irrfan Khan smoking at various public places and had been in the news for this. The director has filed a complaint against Shilpa and Raj of having cheated him of Rs. 8 lakh related to a hunting contest for cricket talent. At present both Raj and Shilpa are quite busy with IPL games and due to the controversial case, are in a terrible fix. Dada sahib Phalke Awards Rejected By Angry Mala Sinha

Mala Sinha the veteran actress has refused to accept the prestigious Dada sahib Phalke Awards. She is upset with the committee that is responsible for giving these awards. The invitation card sent to her did not even carry her name which has made her very angry. Announcements of her name were made earlier along with other names like, Yash Chopra, Rajesh Khanna and Asha Bhosle. She has worked in a number of hit movies in the past in Bollywood and she felt insulted at the committee’s carelessness and hence she expressed her refusal to accept the Dada saheb Phalke Award. She has had a long career in many successful films, and she strongly felt that her name should have featured on the invitation card. However her name was missing on the invitation card and expresses that grave injustice has been done to her.

Vivek Oberoi Reveals His Childhood Crush On Bollywood Actress, Juhi Chawla

At many of the events and shows, many of the actors reveal their childhood crushes and so has Bollywod actor, Vivek Oberoi. He has declared who his childhood crush was. In ‘India’s Best Dramebaaz’, talent hunt show he divulged the name of his crush during childhood. Vivek reveals that after watching the film, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, he had a big crush on Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla. Vivek expressed his admiration for Juhi when she came for promoting her upcoming movie at a show. Vivek was not able to hold on to his emotions and right before her, he opened out his heart. He told her that after watching Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, and watching her shake a leg to the famous song – Gazab Kah Hai Din from the film he had started having a crush on her. The film has now completed 25 years.

On hearing about the crush Juhi Chawla laughed aloud and said that, it meant that Vivek had a crush on her when he was just about ten years old. Vivek recollects that having watched the film as a kid Juhi became the ultimate woman for him. He says that most boys of his childhood fell in love with her enduing cute smile and vivacious ways. He said this at a reality show where he has become a judge. Juhi was also at the show for the ‘Hum Hai Rahi Car Ke’ upcoming film promotion.
