TNCA- Tamil Nadu Cricket Association’s plea will be heard on 13th May by the Supreme Court. The plea is regarding the sealing of the stands at the M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, before tomorrow’s IPL match. A hearing will be urgently given by Dipak Misra and B S Chauhan, the two justice bench to the plea made by the association. This is in view of the IPL match. Action of Chennai Corporation has been challenged by the TNCA regarding the sealing of three stands, namely, I, J, and K on the ground. Chennai Corporation has challenged that the three stands have been constructed on the ground without taking any prior permission from the concerned authorities.

So far without any hitch, seven matches of the IPL have already been conducted at the stadium. For the IPL match to be played tomorrow, the tickets have been sold already. A submission has been made by TNCA for the stands to be opened for tomorrow’s IPL match. Authorities of Chennai Corporation state that they are yet to receive application for approval for building the stands and permission for planning it. Hence, the three stands of the stadium have been sealed, by the Corporation yesterday.

Royal Challengers Bangalore, RCB return to their comfort zone as on Tuesday they clash in a crucial match with Kings XI Punjab. A question mark hangs as far as their play-off chances are concerned. In the six matches played last, they have seen four defeats. Now they are at a stage where winning the penultimate contest is a must. If this does not happen, they have no alternative but to win the last match and also all other matches as well. The six matches that Bangalore had played were away from home. When Bangalore hosts Punjab, it would very much love to return the compliment and on Tuesday, if they do not win, then they would be finding themselves in a hole. To get to the sixteen points, by winning the rest of the three matches, an outside chance too is fancied by the visitors too.

The RCB team is at the fourth position, currently with sixteen points. To make it to the play offs, the remaining two games have to be won by RCB. This is because even KKR with 12 points and Sunrisers Hyderabad with 16 points also stand a chance of qualifying for the games and this is possible if they are able to win the rest of the games.

Gautam Gambhir’s KKR team has already lost thirteen matches and is almost out of the play offs. However, the skipper continues to be very optimistic about having a fair chance, this IPL season. He feels that the team can make the cut definitely in the ongoing games. He feels that the competition is still open at the moment. For KKR, the most important thing that matters is the three games that remain to be played. On Sunday the cricket match with RCB has to be a must-win, Gautam Gambhir, has stated to reporters. He hopes that his team tries its level best and delivers what it should.

It appears that even though Kolkata Knight Riders are cutting it fine for a berth in the playoffs, they are yet not out of the IPL race. At the Pepsi IPL 2013, if they had not been defending champions, they would have already been written off. A lot is being expected from the KKR team as far as pushing the Mumbai Indians team at the 7th May match is concerned. The match is to be played at the Wankhede Stadium and the so far the MI team has won only five IPL cricket matches. They achieved the most unlikely result possible during the last match played when they gained a victory by 60 runs over Chennai Super Kings.

KKR team needs to be aware that with a superb performance of that kind, the reputation as well as morale of almost any team can be raised. Everything seems to be in fine fettle, apart from the struggle of identify the best seamer at number three, from Pawan Suyal, Munaf Patel, Rishi Dhawan and Dhawal Kulkarni who have all been tried and the poor form of Sachin Tendulkar at the batting order at the top. During the last few overs of the last innings, good care was taken by Ambati Rayudu and Kieron Pollard.

Bowling of the Mumbai Indian bowlers is quite lethal which the Kolkata batsmen who misfire need to be aware of well. Mitchell Johnson has been consistent enough about picking up of wickets. Pragyan Ojha and Harbhajan Singh have been successful in striking regularly and have conceded runs at giving away, less than seven runs per over. Even if Lasith Malinga has not been too much amongst the wickets, but whenever he was given the ball, he has been keeping things tight.
