Paper and bag – goes together like love and marriage

 

 

 

Paper and bags has always been a good match – like love and marriage if you are one of those people who sees romance everywhere you look. Seriously, a bag made of paper is an environmentally friendly receptacle. It can be used over and over again and is a great advertising billboard for a business. Do you send your customers on their way with an environmentally friendly, advertising billboard?

Who wants plastic bags?

Before the rise of throwaway plastic bags which were a feature of the shopping and consumer revolution of the sixties and seventies, bags made of paper was the norm. Laminated or plain paper most had string carriers and bore the logo or marque of the store from where they came. Compared to plastic bags, bags made from paper are much better and are not a throwaway item like the hideous examples of plastic we see all around us.

How often do you see paper bags blowing around on the streets, caught on hedge rows or lying on ditches? Plastic bags are responsible for the death of thousands of wild animals every year as a result of them being discarded without a thought. Bags made of paper on the other hand are biodegradable and aren't a danger to the environment or wildlife.

The power of advertising

Advertising your business by way of having the company logo stand out on a carrier bag is a wonderfully powerful advertising medium. It isn't in your face and does not cost a fortune, and although subtle it is also a powerful ‘subliminal’ message. Every customer leaving your shop or store with a purchase should be carrying it away in a clearly marked paper bag. In so doing they become (for a while) the advertising medium of choice and a very efficient one too.

Custom made and printed carrier bags also offer your customers a powerful statement about your ‘green credentials’. As the concern about the environment becomes a worry to an increasing number of people, the message you give if it is positive will also have a positive effect on your clients.

Fit for purpose

Depending upon the products and range of products you sell from your store will also dictate the type of bag you might need. If for instance your store and business sells a range of fashion clothing, then you will not need a bag with a reinforced bottom.

On the other hand if you are selling toys, DIY equipment and other heavier items you may need a bag type with reinforced sides and bottom. Regardless of the type of business or the products you sell, bags made of paper can be found for every occasion. Colorful  robust and fit for purpose, they are a real alternative to bland, environmentally damaging plastic bags.

Any carrier or receptacle is an asset for your business. Your customers will be appreciative and as an advertising space they will be seen all over town long after the bag has left your store.

As a recyclable asset in more ways than one a bag made of paper has few peers.
