ASUS Chromebook Plus CX 14" Touchscreen Laptop, Intel Core 3 Processor, FHD 1920x1080, 8GB RAM, 256GB Storage, Chrome OS, CX1405CTA-IS386PT

Amazon reviewers, PCMag, Wired, Reddit, and a few YouTube reviewers generally describe the ASUS Chromebook Plus CX14 as a good-value Chromebook with fast-enough everyday performance, decent battery life, and a comfortable keyboard. Amazon-style feedback and review coverage also suggest the 8GB RAM / 256GB storage configuration is well suited for browsing, schoolwork, streaming, and light multitasking, while not being a powerhouse for demanding apps.

Reviewers are more mixed on the display and build quality. PCMag and Wired note that the screen is serviceable but not especially vivid, and some sources mention the plastic chassis feels budget-oriented. Reddit commenters tend to frame it as a practical, no-frills Chromebook rather than a premium laptop, with positive remarks about ChromeOS responsiveness and storage capacity.

YouTube reviewers found a few real videos specifically about this model, including an ASUS Chromebook Plus CX14 review, an unboxing for the CX1405/CX1405CTA family, and a comparison video that includes the CX14. Those videos generally echo the same themes: solid everyday usability, good value on sale, and modest tradeoffs in display quality and materials.

Overall takeaway: this looks like a sensible buy if the goal is a fast, affordable Chromebook for web apps, school, and media, but not if you want a standout screen or premium build.
