Editor's Take
Amazon reviewers and a product roundup suggest the ASUS Chromebook CR11 is generally liked for its rugged build, kid-friendly durability, and good value for school or family use. The most common praise is that it feels sturdy and can handle everyday abuse, while the most repeated complaint is the display, which some buyers describe as dim with poor viewing angles and washed-out colors.
Review coverage also points to a few practical tradeoffs: the non-backlit keyboard, modest 4GB memory, and entry-level performance are acceptable for basic Chromebook use but not ideal for heavier multitasking. A few customer comments mention reliability concerns, including at least one report of a unit failing early, but those appear less common than the durability praise.
On YouTube, multiple reviewers have covered this exact Chromebook CR11 family, including hands-on reviews and durability-focused videos. Overall, the video reviews appear to line up with the written feedback: solid build quality and student-friendly design, with the screen and specs being the main compromises.
- Amazon reviewers say it is tough, durable, and good for kids or school use.
- Amazon reviewers also frequently criticize the display quality and viewing angles.
- Reddit and forum-style discussions around the CR11 family generally echo the same value-for-money and screen concerns.
- YouTube reviewers describe it as a basic but practical rugged Chromebook rather than a premium laptop.
