Editor's Take
Amazon reviewers and broader review coverage suggest the ASUS Chromebook CM14 is a solid budget Chromebook for basic school, web, and streaming use, with especially good battery life and a durable, lightweight build. Reviewers consistently note that the keyboard is comfortable and the device feels sturdy, while the 14-inch anti-glare screen is widely described as dim and low-resolution for the class.
On Reddit, users say it works well for note-taking and everyday ChromeOS tasks, and they specifically praise battery life that can reach about 10 hours or more. TechRadar, WIRED, and Notebookcheck all point to the same tradeoffs: decent portability and battery life, but weak multitasking performance, modest 4GB RAM limits, and a display that is acceptable only for very light use.
YouTube search results showed real videos focused on this exact product, including an ASUS Chromebook CM14 review and a CM14 vs CX1 Flip comparison. Those video titles and snippets reinforce the same conclusion: the CM14 is a dependable budget machine, but not a good choice if you expect speed, multitasking, or a sharp display.
- Common positives: battery life, portability, keyboard comfort, durability.
- Common negatives: slow multitasking, low-resolution display, limited storage, basic performance only.
- Best fit: students or casual users who mainly browse, stream, and use Google apps.
