Editor's Take
Amazon-style marketplace feedback for the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin Laptop CP714-1H-54UB (Renewed) appears limited, but related reviews for the same Spin 714 family are broadly positive. Best Buy reviewers say the Chromebook Plus Spin 714 is fast, smooth, and responsive, with strong touchscreen, keyboard, display, and battery-life praise, though a few note it feels heavy.
On Target’s refurbished listing for the same CP714-1H-54UB model, one buyer liked the screen but complained about long update delays on startup, while another said battery life felt weaker than expected for an Intel-based Chromebook. That suggests refurbished-condition consistency may matter as much as the model itself.
PCMag calls the Chromebook Plus Spin 714 one of the best Chromebooks it has reviewed, highlighting excellent performance, an elegant design, good port selection, and long battery life. Laptop Mag also praises the model’s speed and display, while noting battery life is decent rather than class-leading.
On Reddit, discussion around refurbished Chromebooks is generally favorable, with users saying refurbished units can be reliable long-term if the seller and condition are good. Overall, the main positives are performance, display quality, and versatility, while the main concerns are weight, update/setup quirks, and variability common to renewed devices.
