Editor's Take
Amazon reviewers and review sites describe this Acer Chromebook Plus 514 as a strong value for school, work, and everyday browsing, especially because of its fast-feeling performance, 8GB RAM, and unusually large 512GB SSD. Review coverage also notes good battery life, a decent 14-inch touchscreen, and a capable overall package for a budget Chromebook.
There are a few recurring drawbacks. Reviewers mention that performance is fine for typical Chromebook tasks but not class-leading, and some benchmarks show it lagging behind better Chromebooks in heavier productivity work. The build and display are generally seen as solid for the price, but not premium.
- Amazon reviewers say it feels fast for web use, schoolwork, and multitasking.
- Reddit users note the large SSD is a standout feature for a Chromebook at this price.
- Review sites say battery life is good and the touchscreen is a plus.
- Some reviewers warn that performance is only average under heavier workloads.
