Editor's Take
Amazon reviewers appear to like the Tapo C216 for its sharp 2K video, smooth pan/tilt coverage, color night vision, and easy setup. Review sites also describe it as strong value for the price, especially for indoor/outdoor use and local storage without a subscription.
There are some recurring complaints. Reviewers and forum posts mention that the power cable is short for many outdoor installs, the mounting options can be limiting, and the camera must stay plugged in because it has no battery. Some users also report mixed results with motion tracking, and Reddit discussion suggests tracking quality can be frustrating in certain situations.
Overall, the sentiment is positive: buyers seem to think the C216 is a flexible budget camera with good image quality and useful smart features, but not without practical installation trade-offs.
