Get the classic country style look

With the SS13 fashion weeks out of the way we can see that a style which has become very popular in recent years, the country style looks. Many equestrian inspired and country inspired materials and designs have made it down the catwalk during the London, New York, Pairs and Milan catwalks.

What have these catwalk taught us then? What are the best country looks and how do we go about creating them? There are a few rules you should stick to when going for the classic country style look. Firstly keep to a soft, neutral colour palette propels you into the luxury zone. Choose a cream blouse or navy coat, they are much more flattering and country looking than stark black and white.

When you want a casual weekend look, work around a stylish gilet. Make it sheepskin and you've got the big fashion look at the moment. A gilet cleverly pulls separates together to give you endless variation. Whether it’s a gilet or a coat faux fur, sheepskin, leather and suede are all major players for the country-meets-city look this season. Try mixing textures together and keep accessories to a minimum to not overpower your look.

The catwalks were also full of prints this season, which is great as these prints create a fantastic country look. If you love prints, then the choice is yours. From tiny traditional paisleys to punchy dramatic animal prints, they're a powerful addition to any winter wardrobe. Tone a bold-printed dress down with a long, chunky knit for that great in-between weather look.

Victoria Beckham has definitely brought back the trouser suit for women; a well fitted tweed suit is just about the most useful outfit in anyone's wardrobe. It's worth making a major investment in a tweed suit to get great style and cut. Wear the jacket with jeans for a dress-down day.

Get ready for summer!!!

If you’re anywhere as excited as we are about leaving the cold and damp weather of winter behind and embracing the spring and summer, you’ll be starting to think about re-vamping your wardrobe too. There are so many exciting styles to choose from its hard to pick out our favourite trend. So we have put together a range of styles for different occasions throughout summer. Which one is your favourite?

This is the perfect outfit for a hot summer BBQ. It is practical and cute. A simple straw hat will keep you protected from the sun if you’re in it for a long time throughout the day. I love the colour of this Topshop top and these Levi’s jeans are an absolute summer must have. The shoes are Vans California available from iConsume. I love the unique summer pattern on them, it gives the whole outfit an added California look.

I love the easiness of this outfit. The dress is from Topshop and is perfect for really hot days in the sun. This is the perfect beach outfit. The sandals and bag are from Zara, I love the reflective panel at the front of the sandals and it looks fantastic accessorised with a colourful bag like this. The splash of colour adds a fun feel to the whole outfit.

For a more sophisticated city day out we recommend this outfit. The strapless floral dress is from French Connection as gives a feminine and stylish look. Matched with these cream French connection heeled sandals and River Island bag you are ready to hit the shops!

Is celebrity kid’s style cooler than their parents?

Recently we have seen celebrity kids alongside their celebrity parents dressed in clothing which we can only dream of. Top designer labels from head to toe, just like their parents, but was is it about these cute kids style that is so much cooler than their parents? Kids’ designer clothing, including boys Armani jeans can be found at Base Fashion.

Well firstly, innocence is confidence. When these kids are out in the public eye they are not fazed by it, they have grown up around it, and they are used to the paparazzi, the cameras the masses of crowds. They ignorance towards them makes these kids cooler than a cucumber. They know they have nothing to worry about when out with mummy and daddy, they are safe and protected by them and their huge entourage. Ignorance really is bliss.

Secondly their style. Yes, it is the parents who pick out their clothes, but the kids are so used to wearing everything beautiful they wear it like its nothing new. When we get a pair of designer shoes we flaunt about in them trying to avid any puddle or bit of dirt on the floor in case they get dirty. These kids jump into puddles wearing £500 booties, and good on them. If their parents decide to put them in them, don’t expect them to be pristine at the end of the day. The lack of understanding of money gives kids a cool edge over any adult.

Another great thing about celeb kids and their style, is that they can wear bright colours and bold patterns without looking like coco the clown. Kids are expected to wear fun styles and colours, so they can get away with a whole lot more when it comes to fashion than their stylish parents.
