Car Prices Explained: Private Sales; Forecourt Sales; and Part Exchanges - Used Car Buying Guide

Car Prices Explained: Private Sales; Forecourt Sales; and Part Exchanges - Used Car Buying Guide

Used Car Buying Guide

When you start looking at buying a car or selling a car, the whole concept of how car prices are put together can seem quite peculiar. If you buy a second-hand car from a dealership, for example, you pay more for the same make and model than if you buy it from a private seller. Also, you may receive preferential rates if you part exchange your old vehicle with a  specific garage – essentially paying slightly less for the same make and model than if you have bought it at the full forecourt price.

The car industry sets its prices according to a number of guides, which are used by traders and garage owners to determine the value of the vehicles they sell. This value is the product of a matrix of different factors, which may include the mileage of the vehicle and the location in which it has been driven, as well as what it is.

The prices listed in these guides may not correlate to the price asked for and paid by private sellers and their customers. This is because the actual demand for certain vehicles is dictated by immediate availability rather than the book value of a certain make and model with a specific mileage attached to it.

For instance, buying a pre-owned van in Devon costs more than buying the same pre-owned van in Birmingham: despite the fact that the actual physical condition of a Devonshire van, which has had to live with sea salt and sand in the air, is likely to be worse than the physical condition of a van in Birmingham. This is a factor of demand. In Devon, vans are in short supply (because of the sea air) and are always required by the majority of local businesses, which revolve around grounds maintenance, construction, and farming. In Birmingham, on the other hand, there are plenty of vans and no sea air to hurt them. So it’s a lot easier to find one worth owning.

Simple Steps For Organising a Successful Rugby Tour

The touring experience isn't just reserved for the pros; this opportunity to bond with your team and improve your game is accessible to all levels of the game. Whether you're part of an amateur side, a semi-pro or part of the school team, you can enjoy one of the most unique trips abroad available.

Location.

Understandably, this is one of the chief concerns of most organisers. It's critical that you bear in mind your tour's objective when making this decision. Are you after a unique training experience for your team? Perhaps you want to see how they perform in a different climate or even a different altitude? New Zealand would be a great choice in either circumstance, although the price of the flights may be a little off putting. Or maybe you're just after a relaxing environment for the lads to enjoy post match or training. Whatever your goals, make sure you set aside a fair amount of time to research facilities, weather conditions and such.

Timing.

Picking the period in your season that you allocate to your tour could be critical to the success or failure of your season and is a crucial factor to take into consideration when organising rugby tours in general. It doesn't matter whether you're an International or an amateur, nobody likes losing and touring mid season could leave your team fatigued and vulnerable in critical matches. Again, the purpose of your tour is a good guideline for choosing the timing. If you're trying to get the team to match fitness or introducing new training techniques, pre-season would be the ideal time to tour. Alternatively, if you're just looking to blow off some steam, a tour at the end of a long season will be ideal.

  2. Decide upon the guest list. Make a list of all the close friends of your child. More importantly, do not forget to invite the parents as well. This is more important if your child is small like 4-5 yrs old.

  3. Choose decorations for the birthday party. This should go in sync with the birthday party theme. Depending on the party theme, you can buy balloons, streamers and other decor items.
