| Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was the film shooting during which the famous love affair between Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai, the former Miss. World began. During the making of this film they had given their hearts to each other literally. In fact both of them did make a stunning couple and gossip columns of the media kept on writing about this affair. From 1999 to 2001 things were hunky dory between the beautiful damsel and macho superstar. Salman visited Aishwarya’s home frequently and the neighbors saw them together often. However, this was one love affair that was not fated to succeed and in March 2002 they broke up with Aishwarya taking the decision that the macho hero wasn’t faithful to her. Salman, being a possessive person retaliated as he couldn’t accept her denial. Aishwarya later stated that she was thankful to God, as the nightmare, the Salman Khan chapter was over. The intoxicated Salman was found abusing, breaking furniture in her apartment, speaking rubbish, linking her with other heroes including Shah Rukh and Abhishek Bachchan and misbehaving with her. During the shooting of Kuch Na Kaho in which Abhishek was the film’s hero incidentally, Salman is known to even have pushed Aishwarya down on to the floor. The same thing happened again later in a film in which Aishwarya was acting with Shah Rukh Khan and when Shah Rukh intervened, Salman abused him and the relationship between the two top actors soured which continues till date. Salman had made claims that his love for Aishwarya was pure and he wasn’t hounding her. He loved her for the respect she had for her parents, she being the traditional Indian girl. |
