Dubai is known for being a melting pop of cultures and nationalities, with a high percentage of the city's population made up of foreigners who have relocated for work and a number of other reasons. With that, there are a number of restaurants who offer delicious cuisine from across the globe – including Japanese restaurants – that serve up a number of traditional dishes that can be thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. In this article we are going to look at five of Dubai's Japanese restaurants and the popular dishes that feature on their extensive menus:

Nobu – Atlantis, The Palm

Nobu is located at Atlantis, The Palm – making it the perfect restaurant to indulge in a delicious dinner for guests staying in one of their suites in Dubai, as it is right on their doorstep – serving up infused traditional styled Japanese food with South American influences and contemporary flair. Offering diners, a chance to indulge in everything Japanese – including Sake, an array of sushi, and their signature dish Miso - Marinated Black Cod – in a venue decorated with sleek décor, subtle lighting and curved wicker panels, creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy one of the hottest Japanese restaurants in the city. What's more, diners have the chance to enjoy the warm weather by sitting outside in Nobu's garden – that takes note of some design aspects that derive from Japan's Zen gardens.

Zuma – Dubai International Financial Centre

Located at the heart of the city, Zuma follows the Japanese Izakaya style of dining, where food is served to share. Dishes are brought to the table steadily as and when they are needed, replacing those that have been emptied. This creates an informal but sophisticated style of eating with a contemporary twist. The restaurant's menu has an array of delicious classic dishes on offer that are made with only the highest quality ingredients, and that have been altered by adding bold and intense flavours. Included on the menu are an array of small dishes, sushi and sashimi options, Robata, Zuma dishes, desserts, and an Ebisu lunch menu, meaning there is plenty of options to choose from. The restaurant's design was created by Tokyo based designer – Noriyoshi Muramatsu – and balances the six elements of fire, earth, water, air, wood and iron, this is to achieve harmony. Some of the design elements include hand-carved granite counters and salvaged rusted-steel walls, all adding to the glorious atmosphere where diners can enjoy a truly divine Japanese meal.
