Before we begin please note that we welcome your questions about the Mothercare Spin Pram - we are using it all the time and have one so please don't be shy please post a message on our wall here http://style-review.com/cover/my-profile/86-editor

Myself and girlfriend recently took a look at the mothercare spin pram. Well we went to check out all kinds of prams and stuff and this no doubt pushed gently by the salespeople in terms of its positioning by the shop. We liked it a lot and will post our review as soon as our baby is born and we get to use it. Initially though we got to test drive it in the store and this is our thoughts.

The Spin is a well thought out design and its main selling point is the top half spining 180 degrees facing the baby away or towards you. Is this necessary I don't know you can argue that. And my only concern is that if this mechanism goes then the pram is broken. Lets imagine that it is a sturdy as it feels and that doesn't happen. The spin happens by doing a ralleigh grifter style twist of the centre of the handle. Visit your mothercare and give it a dare I say it SPIN ! you twist with a single hand and then you can rotate the whole of the top on this pivot point.
This for us isn't the main strength of this pram it comes with a stylish design and 4 wheels. It doesnt fold up as small as some others so look into that if you own an audi tt.

You can check out the special offers which can get you the attachments needed to fit a child car seat. You still need to buy the car seat but you can get the base with the offer which goes into the car, Yes its a lot of pieces if you ask me but we will probably use them all.

The foot brake is a single tap with the right foot and it really handles well at least in the shop.

The special offer is for the best coloured the silver and black version. Click the link above to find out more.

How well does it work with the Maxi Cosi Child Seat ? Check this video of the two interchanging with the needed adaptors. Mothercare were offering a deal to get the seat and adaptors if bought in conjunction with the mothercare spin pram (only in silver at time of writing)

With the current discounts this pram seems to be better value but it is a lot of money otherwise. Still like weddings babies command paying more for the occasion. I'm sure I could get a nice second hand ford focus for 400 quid ? Check out the full range of mothercare prams and let us know what you think if you have a spin.
We liked the four wheels as opposed to three. You can get into situations where you need to balance the front and having two wheels here makes more sense like going backwards up the curb you lift the rear wheels off the ground and if then you just have three it is harder.

We are still happy with the Spin Pram ! It does frustrate sometimes with the turn circle thing in the house. Like a shopping trolley you need the front wheels to start in the one direction until you can manouver it.
But I am so in the nack of folding it and spinning it though we didn't use the spin function yet- we like to face baby.
I would recommend this pram to anyone.

I gave this a low value for ergonomics based on the fact that with 4 wheels if you have a front wheel blocking the natural direction you want to push the spin pram in and for example you have the baby in one hand on the sofa and try to move the spin pram (or any 4 wheeled pram) then the front wheels need to be in line with the direction you want to push it or there is an initial resistance to it moving.

I also noticed with time that the handle raising-lowering gets stuck (using the central spin control grip) and needs some force applying in line with the handles and outwards as a kind of technique you must learn, then its fine when you get that knack otherwise at times it was infuriating.

The other is the collapsing white button and this works fine if you apply the right directional force again.

Another annoyance is that you (in real use - which is where I am basing this whole review as a real user case) fold down the handle and it hits the dirty floor UNLESS YOU TAKE CARE ! germs on handle and then transmission to baby.

Having said that our spin looks great and we love it. I suppose you can't have everything.
