This is a baby monitor which has the facility to alert you if the baby stops movement which can include the delicate breaths your baby takes. It resumes with movement and halts the gentle alarm but gives you a warning that it did indeed go off unless you thought you had dreamt it.

*** Please read this NHS document for help in resucitating your child ***

We like the following especially
The motion sensor pad works well and can be shut of with a switch on the Child Unit
Its a nice design and a reasonable size footprint
You get a room temperature reading on the well lit display
It does seem to have everything you need in the box

I really like the fact that as an overprotective first time dad I can close my eyes and sleep knowing that the baby next to us is being monitored. So this is just one use for this. We are not at the stage where our premature baby is going to be left upstairs but we already find the baby board useful.

So the baby board sits under the mattress and is wired to the Child Unit every motion is seen and a green check light comes on. If after the pre determined 20 seconds I think it is an audible alert happens, and a red flag light is on the unit.

Not least also as we live on three floors the walkie talkie mode of the Parent Unit (Rechargeable Batteries Supplied) allows us also to save some time and is pretty handy.

Of course this product also does the audio and though we are not using it yet it works well. If we wanted to improve this we might ask for a display of video but really we were not after this and don't think we found this essential in a baby monitor after all you can't see movement - this monitor DOES this check well. The baby board is much better to have than a visual representation that is useless during sleep.

If the alarm does sound what do you do ? Well this is a question indeed, and a horrid situation we hope you never get into. Take a read of the link given in the review above.

The night illumination could be a bit more powerful - this is a bit of a side feature, the control panel backing glows an orange colour.

Please let us know how you use your baby monitor. Or even better submit your own baby monitor if you think its great.
